Recovery Process

How VaultPass responds when something goes wrong — from detection to public post-mortem.

01Detection

Automated health checks probe all endpoints every 60 seconds. Upstash Redis monitors rate-limit anomalies. Any failure triggers immediate alert to the on-call engineer via Telegram and email.

02Assessment

On-call engineer triages severity (P0–P2) within the response window. P0/P1 incidents escalate immediately. Scope of impact is determined before any public communication.

03Containment

Affected services isolated. Vercel automatic rollback deployed if error rate exceeds threshold. Database connections rate-limited. Status page updated within the notify window.

04Remediation

Root cause identified and fixed. Fix deployed via CI/CD pipeline with preview environment validation. Service restoration verified against health endpoint before all-clear issued.

05Post-Mortem

All P0 and P1 incidents receive a public post-mortem within 7 days. Post-mortems include timeline, root cause, impact scope, and concrete steps taken to prevent recurrence.
